Today is my first official day of being mostly recovered
from the Raging Family Chest Cold of Jan-Feb 2013.
{Yes it has a long, cumbersome title. I just can’t help it.}
I know it’s my first official day because I haven’t sat in my smushy chair even once.
Instead I’ve spent a good portion of the day sitting at my desk; meandering.
{That means pretty much getting nothing done.}
Sometimes meandering is a good thing. Like when you’re walking through the forest (unless you become lost or are attacked by a bear or some such). Meandering is also lovely during a road trip; those feckless days spent wandering from spot to spot, catching up and examining whatever catches your fancy.
{Isn’t feckless a nice word? Really people should use it more often.}
Streams meander, so do rivers. People in front of me in grocery store aisles never fail to meander whenever I’m in a hurry.
And often meandering while at my desk is beneficial. It means I’m wandering about, reading through this, discovering that. Picking up a loose end here and there and tucking them into place.
Unfortunately that wasn’t the case today.
Today I meandered myself around in circles till I became dizzy and accomplished basically nothing.
And now it’s officially evening which translates to What have you done today Lisa? and I really have no words
Well, except this one: crap.
